YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown will host a pasta dinner to benefit a woman with ALS on Sunday.
Kara Harris has been diagnosed with ALS — a progressive disease that attacks the nervous system. The money raised will go toward Kara’s family and her care.
“She’s doing well. She’s just a very brave woman, and she’s approached it with just grace. But it’s difficult. It’s difficult for the family and for my son as her husband,” said Colleen Harris, Kara’s mother-in-law.
The event will also feature live music with basket raffles. Dinner costs $15 per person and will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Raffles can be purchased separately from the dinner, and winners will be announced after 5:30.
