FRESNO, Calif (KSEE/KGPE) – A woman is dead after being struck by a car in north Fresno early Saturday morning, Fresno Police say.
Officers were called to Blackstone and Spruce Avenues at 3:19 a.m. for a report of a vehicle versus a pedestrian.
They say the vehicle’s driver was traveling southbound on Blackstone Avenue in the number one lane when he struck the pedestrian.
According to investigators, the driver appeared to have had the green light at the time of the collision.
Police estimate the female pedestrian to be about 70 years of age, and say she died at the scene from her injuries.
Authorities do not believe the driver was under the influence when the collision occurred.
The department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this case. If anyone has information or witnessed the crash, they are asked to call Fresno Police at 559-621-7000.
