Temperatures will continue to drop through the early part of the week and bottom out into Wednesday morning. Overnight lows will drop into the negative digits with daytime highs only in the single digits. Keep up with the weather forecast here.

Will these cold temperatures break records?

We are on the path to colder air next week, but the records during the coldest time of the year are mostly quite low. It does look like we may challenge one record on Wednesday morning.

The forecast for next week does not look cold enough on Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday as we would need to drop to -20°F, or colder. That is not expected.

The forecast does look cold enough Tuesday night into Wednesday morning to break the record of -9°F set in 2022.

Temperatures are expected to slowly warm up after that and climb above zero for overnight lows into the end of the week keeping the current low temperatures in place.

It will be cold, but only one day will challenge a record low at this point.
