The Wilkes men’s basketball team picked up its fourth straight league win on a trip to Philadelphia, beating Elizabethtown 82-74 on Sunday at the historic Palestra.
Two Wilkes veterans hit milestones in the win as Lucas Leski and Cayden Merrifield each scored 22 points to top 1,000 for their careers.
Leading just 48-47 midway through the second half, Wilkes went on a 28-9 run to put the game away.
Jack Argento added 16 points and 13 rebounds while Eli Becker scored 10 for the Colonels.

Elizabethtown 83, Wilkes 54
The Colonels’ trip to Philadelphia for Landmark Conference Palestra Gameday ended with a loss to nationally ranked Elizabethtown.
Yamirelis Matos scored 13 points and Nadia Evanosky had 12 rebounds.
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Misericordia drops pair
The Cougars finished out the SUNY-Poly Invitational with losses to Hobart and Westminster (Mo.) in Utica, N.Y.
No. 14 Misericordia dropped a ranked showdown to No. 10 Hobart 3-2 before losing 3-1 to Westminster.
Jared Piontkowski had 22 kills against Hobart and Anthony DePalma had 14 kills and three aces. Thomas Young had 11 kills.
Piontkowski led the way with 14 kills against Westminster while DePalma had 11 and Young added nine.
DeFrain had 33 assists while Matt Albrecht had four aces and Tyler Knoop had four blocks.
MEN’S HOCKEY
Wentworth 3, Wilkes 2
The Colonels fell short in overtime in the consolation game of Comfort Inn Complex Winter Complex at Plattsburgh State.
Christian Blomquist scored and Miles Harrington tied the game for Wilkes in the final two minutes of regulation.
Goeroge Kolovos scored his second goal of the game 3:08 into overtime for the winner.

Cougars sweep Colonels
The Misericordia men beat Wilks 179-58 while the women earned a 201-24 victory at the Wilkes-Barre CYC.
