“We’ve got to rally people across the state” Arkansas AD Hunter Yurachek talks NIL and more at Touchdown Club

In his seven years as Athletic Director of the University of Arkansas, Hunter Yurachek has seen and been through a lot.

From watching 11 of the school’s 19 sports programs win 36 Southeastern Conference titles to enduring three major national coaching searches.

The latest challenge in front of him and athletic directors nationwide is getting a handle on name, image, and likeness in college athletics.

FOX 16 Sports attended the Little Rock Touchdown Club’s weekly gathering where Yurachek spoke to Razorback alumni and fans.

He spoke about the previous and current state of U of A sports, the behind-the-scenes story of meeting John Calipari for the first time before hiring him and gave his thoughts on what it would be like speaking to legendary Arkansas football coach and athletic director Frank Broyles.

Yurachek also emphasized how Arkansas athletics has found it’s footing on NIL, but there is a lot more work to do if they want to compete with rival SEC schools.
