YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -Ursuline Friday won their ninth game in a row with a 30-0 win over archrival Cardinal Mooney.
The Irish (9-1) struck first on a 75-yard by DC Ferrell at the 7:38 mark of the opening quarter. They missed the point after but still led 6-0. Ursuline added a field goal with 3:19 left in the first to increase their lead to 9-0.
The Irish ended the half with another touchdown and took a 16-0 lead into the locker room.
Ursuline started the second half taking a 23-0 lead on a 13-yard run by Ferrell for a score. With 9:39 left in the game Ferrell hit Devonte Taylor on a 21-yard touchdown pass to increase the Ursuline lead to 30-0.
Ursuline should know their first-round opponent by Sunday,
Cardinal Mooney (3-7) will know this weekend if they qualified for postseason play.
