WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) – Two men from Carthage are facing charges after allegedly trying to take copper plumbing from the closed-down Watertown Correctional Facility.
New York State Police arrested 33-year-old Donald Bishop and 44-year-old Zachary Guichard after both were allegedly found inside the former facility in an electrical room attempting to steal copper plumbing on Tuesday, August 27.

Both were in also allegedly in possession of Methamphetamine and Amphetamine tablets.
Here are the felony charges the pair are facing:
Burglary in the Third Degree, (class “D” felony)
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, (class “B” felony)
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, (class “C” felony)
The duo were also charged with a number of misdemeanors that include criminal mischief, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal trespass among other charges.
Bishop and Guichard were both arraigned in Jefferson County CAP Court. Guichard was remanded to the Jefferson County Jail with no bail. Bishop was held on $10,000 cash/$20,000 partially secured bond, or $40,0000 unsecured bond.
In the same police release, Troopers arrested 55-year-old Joseph Palladino Sr. from Carthage for Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree.
Palladino was arrested after he was found to be allegedly trespassing inside the closed Watertown Correctional Facility, which is in the town of Watertown.
Palladino Sr. was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable to CAP Court on September 11.
