Before we share our story with you, permit us quote from Tad Williams who says this of lies: We tell lies when we are afraid… afraid of what we don't know, afraid of what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us.
But every time we tell a lie, the thing that we fear grows stronger. Now, we tell this story on the basis of the controversy surrounding the supposed "diatribe" by Mayor Mangoh of Nkambe during the funeral ceremony of Hon. Tamfu in Nkambe.

Already, some cohorts of the CPDM regime have been quick to give a political twist to the issue, and so we make hay our own may to tell the truth and facts as much as we can…expecting, of course, the devil to start roaring wild!!! Honoable Samuel Ngeh Tamfu died on March 28, 2012 and was buried on April 28, 2012.
There is something spiritually symbolic about these dates. March 28 precedes Deceit Day April Fool’s Day by two days, while April 28 precedes Honesty Day by two days!

The Bible in Proverbs 12: 17-22, amongst other things says ‘Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight. “ During one of the vigils for Hon. SN Tamfu in Dallas, USA, everyone who spoke poured flowery words on the man, until one Pastor, a Bafut man who is an in-law to the Tamfu’s ( bearing on the pains they went through for Tamfu’s son to accept responsibilities over their daughter’s pregnancy!!).
This Pastor, a true man of God decided to narrate a story as an anecdote, to make his point. He said there was this man whose brutality towards his wives and children was worse than a barbarian’s. One day he so beat the wife, bruised her and injured the children that he left in a hurry and died in an accident. At his funeral, the widow sat veiled in front of the casket, while mourners and friends read out eulogies of him.
All were flowery and delightful…” Here lies a wonderful husband who took ggod care of his wife…”
“ Here lies the greatest father any child will dream to have…bla…bla…bla!”
Of course, this shocked the widow and the kids, and she stood up, threw back her veil gently and peeped into the casket. Then she beckoned on her children to come over and look as well. Then she raised up her finger and took permission to say something: Hear her “ I called my kids to join me verify whether you people are talking of someone else or this brute lying in this casket here. I want you all to take a look at my bruised face, my broken arm and my children’s faces. Does this look like the marks receive from a wonderful husband? You all are hypocrites trying to please us by inflicting more bruises on our hearts! These marks were sustained just a few days before his death..”
The mourners all sapped down and buried their hypocritical faces in their palms…” Then the Pastor who was narrating this anecdote sat down. The message was very clear. Last April 27, 2012, at the vigil for SN Tamfu at the Nkambe Grand Stand, much was said about SN Tamfu, directly and indirectly. The Rev.Tita Ntang Kingsley, of PCC who prayed, thanked God that ever since the opposition took over the parliamentary seat in Nkambe, petitions have seized being written about civil servants in Nkambe.
This position was echoed by Rev. Father Gerard of St. Rita’s. Then came Mayor Mangoh’s speech in which he was enumerating how tough and unforgiving Hon. Tamfu was, and how all good civil servants like Administrators, Teachers etc were sent on punitive transfers away from Nkambe simply if they were not toeing Tamfu’s line. Of course, this honest testimony enraged the devil as in John 8:44-47.
One Patience Tamfu sprang up a l’Americaine, and caused the microphone to be seized from Mangoh. Naively, the SDO, Nzekie Theophille, who purports to be a born again Christian was heard screaming “ On ne dit pas ca au deuil” ( We don’t say those things at funerals). In fact, he was saying, the Truth should not be spoken at funerals.
Before we justify Mangoh’s position and that of the Rev. Fater of St. Rita’s, let us hear what God is saying to all who hate the truth and SDO Nzekie Theophilee: “…You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.” John 8:44-47 {NIV}. No comments!!!
The story of Hon. SN Tamfu will never be told in its entirety from a single angle. The controversy that surrounded him depicts the life the gentleman lived from 1935 ( presumably) to 2012 when he gave up the ghost in Yaoundé. Hon. SN Tamfu was designated by Hon. JT Ndze of Tabenken in November of 1958 as his successor in politics and the very next year, he won elections to the Southern Cameroons House of Assembly.
Ever since, his has been a series of battles to regain power, once in a while lost to Hon. Nsakwa, until 1997 when the opposition SDF came and put an end to his fruitless political race. Empty because no one can point a finger at a single project that Hon. SN Tamfu realized in Donga Mantungin his over 53 years of active politics in Southern Cameroons, West Cameroon, United Republic of Cameroon and La Republique du Cameroun. O yes, let this again be challenged by those empty praise singers like A. M. and his cohorts. What we know of hon. SN Tamfu in this line is that he succeeded in duping women in Tabenken, Mbot and Talla to contributing monies for the purchase of grinding mills for them.
Until his death, he still owes these women, and his children are being called upon to pay these debts. Of course, Hon SN Tamfu himself said it on August 27 in the presence of CPDM Central Committee Delegation leader to Nkambe, Clobert Tchatat “ I am happy that death has spared me to be here to send this message to President Biya that he still owes Donga Mantung people, for we still await our Far NW and the Ring Road…”
Of course, Tamfu died without Biya paying his debts…which could have been his only life-time realization. Ironically, the tarring of the Ring Road will end just at the nose of Tamfu’s Donga mantung constituency! On the eve of the Presidential elections of last October 2011, Hon. Tamfu went and whitewashed the marbled grave of late Mr. Ngala, declaring that it is a shame that Madam Hon. Esther Ngala had abandoned it. In that process, his vehicle crushed the grave and it lays there in ruins!! Remember, the grave was built in marbles, and just imagine what whitewash will do on marble!
Hon. SN Tamfu and the Church Double Standards: The CBC is renowned for being very stringent about religious and biblical ethics and principles When Hon. SN Tamfu’s corpse left the mortuary in Yaounde, it landed at the Etoug-Egbe CBC Church, where an all-night service was dedicated to Hon. SN Tamfu as a true Christian indeed! Rev. Pastor Dr. Philemon Bungansah Nfor was the presiding Minister at the service. In fact, he led a powerful delegation from Etoug-Egbe to Taku, to join the CBC Church in Taku pour out accolades on SN Tamfu.
We are not like being apprehensive of any such wonderful praises and honour at one’s last outing on earth. But, what baffles us is the manifestation of the church’s double standards in this case. We recall that a certain Pa Rober Njeshu Lamnyam, who built a church for the CBC in Ndu was refused these last religious rituals with the excuse that he had more than one wife. As at the funeral of Hon. A.T. Ngala, the CBC gave a blind eye at the four widows of SN Tamfu who, paradoxically sat conspicuously just next to the make-shift pulpit/alter.
The CBC here never saw anything wrong in the polygamous marriage. This double standards of the CBC is extended to other cases, even of witch-craft, wherein, suspects are simply chased out of the church instead of being prayed for. We recall the case of Adamu Musa’s father who was a CBC pastor and expelled from the church like Pastor Wawa for being suspected of being wizards!!
