SHERWOOD, Ark. – Sherwood officials celebrated the addition of the city’s first baby box location.
The Safe Haven baby box blessed on Wednesday is at the Sherwood Fire Department station located at 400 Lantrip Road.

“Once we get that first little one, the excitement of the guys and the women that we work with, taking care of that child and giving it a better chance at life,” Sherwood fire chief John Sawyer said.
The baby boxes are designed to be a resource to safely surrender an infant anonymously. Boxes are available 24/7 and are equipped with silent alarms to alert first responders.
