Searcy taking "digital step forward" with launch of help request website

SEARCY, Ark. — Getting help in Searcy has never been easier. On Tuesday, the city launched a new website where people can fill out online requests for help.

The online form lists six departments: animal control, code enforcement, fire, parks, sanitation, and streets.

It also has a drop-down menu with 37 of the most common issues people bring to the city listed, such as a pothole or a street light needing fixing, a problem with trash pick-up, or something that needs attention in a park.

Users can also type other needs and be updated by phone or email whenever the requested work is completed.

Searcy Mayor Matt Faulkner explained this is far more streamlined than what came before.

“For the longest time, our departments were just utilizing emails texts, sticky notes right?” Faulkner stated. “So this is just taking a digital step forward that will be more efficient and also help the communication processes between the city and our citizens.”

The website is SearcyHelpDesk.com. You can also find it at the bottom of the City of Searcy website.
