Search for missing teens on Oahu’s North Shore suspended

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The search for two teens missing on Oahu’s North Shore has officially been suspended.

17-year-old Samantha Chun and 18-year-old Joey Fujioka were last seen Friday night and were reported missing after they failed to return home by Saturday.

On Saturday afternoon, the Honolulu Fire Department reported finding human remains about 200 yards off Ke Iki Beach.

However, officials have not yet identified the remains, and the investigation into their connection to the missing teens is ongoing.

While the official search has been called off, family and friends of the missing teens are not giving up hope.

The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) has also classified the case as an active missing persons investigation, continuing their efforts to gather more information.

Authorities have not released further details, but they are urging anyone with information to come forward.
