Robert ‘Bob’ Skibbe | 95 | North Judson, IN

Born June 8, 1929, in North Judson, Indiana to the late George and Alma (Spenner) Skibbe.  Bob, 95, of Jerseyville, passed away on Aug. 26, 2024.
On Aug. 2, 1958, he married Carol Lange at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, IL.  Carol passed away in January of 2024.
An Army veteran (1952-1954), he served with the Army Medical Corp at the American Hospital in Paris, France.  He worked at various radio stations in Indiana and Illinois until co-founding WJBM in Jerseyville in 1959, where he served as co-owner and manager until his retirement in 1985.  He was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville.
Surviving are his three children, Cheryl (Tom) Geyer, Karin (John) Kennedy and Kevin (Kathryn) Skibbe; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Beverly Skibbe and Shirley Tetmeyer.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Cecil (Helen) Skibbe, a brother, George Skibbe and a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred (Ray) Sramek.
Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville, with Pastor David Otten officiating a service of Christian burial at 11 a.m.  Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is assisting the family with final arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to Hope Lutheran Church.
