Rapper, 28, stalked teen girl before assaulting her at high school: report

An alleged case of stalking took a dark turn Tuesday afternoon when Maricopa High School staffers “forced” a 28-year-old man to let go of a young student, who was crying as he assaulted her near the campus, police said.

An employee at the school told police dispatchers just after 2 p.m., around the time school lets out, that Starlex Dorcely, a little-known local rapper, was assaulting a student near Taft Avenue. The staffer, along with others, told the authorities that the man was grabbing and pulling the girl by the arm.

While officers were on the way, security guards employed at the high school “forced the male to let go of the young female,” according to a police document. “The young girl was crying and requesting someone to call 911.”

The girl, confirmed to be a student, told officers she was “scared and afraid” of Dorcely, who had been stalking her for some time. She alleged that on multiple occasions, Dorcely had followed her onto a public bus.

Police did not disclose the relationship between the two.

When asked about the incident, Dorcely began “making spontaneous unrelated remarks and outbursts,” responding officers said. His mother said Dorcely had been without his medication.

He was booked into the Pinal County jail, where he faces a year behind bars on charges of assault and disorderly conduct.
