POLAND, Ohio (WKBN) — Poland’s clock tower has ringing bells and music once again.
It’s all thanks to Town One Streetscape, who raised 14,000 for the new bells and electronics to have the sound again for Christmas.
They pressed the button Saturday night, activating the songs during the town’s tree lighting. It played four hours of Christmas music and will chime every 15 minutes.
It’s the first time the bells have played in over 20 years.
“We pursued this, and in less than a month raised $14,000 from the citizens — the generous citizens, which is the group that you see here to reactivate the clock tower,” said project architect Bob Mastriana.
The group wanted to thank all the generous donors and the Mayor of Poland, Timothy Sicafuse.
