Island farmers have spent more than $9 million in federal funding over the last three years as part of the On-Farm Climate Action Fund, or OFCAF. The pilot project is now over, and the P.E.I. Federation of Agriculture has applied for another three years of money. Dairy farmer Kyle Jewell says the cash helps producers to “do the right thing” without the financial risk.
