Over half of Ohio school levies failed

(WKBN) — The number of school levies that failed Tuesday in Ohio was well above the percentage that failed just one year earlier.

Tuesday in Ohio, 51 percent of the school levies failed — up from 30 percent that failed in 2023.

When it came to new or additional tax levies, only 25 percent passed, and even with renewals only 71 percent passed.

Jennifer Hogue of the Ohio School Boards Association said, “Last night’s levy results are a tough reminder of the challenges Ohio’s schools are facing. These results indicate that many communities are struggling to support local funding for education.”
