SOUTH SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) — A man is dead after being hit by pickup truck early Thursday evening.
At around 6:15 p.m., South Salt Lake Police Department (SSLPD) was dispatched to a call of an auto versus pedestrian at the intersection of 3300 South and 1000 West in South Salt Lake City. Though life saving measures were applied, the man who has been reported to be in his 40s to 50s, died on scene.
The name of the man has not been released pending the department contacting the next of kin.
Details about the crash are limited as the investigation is ongoing. However, according to SSLPD, the driver of the pick-up truck was uninjured and stayed on scene to cooperate with the police.
As SSLPD conducts their investigation, the intersection at 3300 South and 1000 West has been closed, and is expected to be closed for the next 3 hours.
