NILES, Ohio (WKBN) — Oak Hill Collaborative is expanding its digital literacy programs and will also teach a new class this year in both English and Spanish.
The class will be every Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Plaza Agave in Niles. It begins on Jan. 7.
The classes teach students computer basics in an effort to close the digital divide. This location will also be part of their Hardware for Homes program.
Qualified students who attend five classes will get a free refurbished laptop.
“If you don’t know how to use a computer, you are lost in this world. Government benefits, education, medicine and telehealth, things like that — communicating with your loved ones,” said Oak Hill Executive Director Pat Kerrigan.
They also teach a bilingual class every Tuesday at 10 a.m. at OCCHA on Shirley Road in Youngstown.
