New glass art studio opens in Vestal

VESTAL, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – A locally renown mosaic artist opened up her own studio space in the middle of a Vestal Park.

Emily Jablon is now the owner of Jablon Studios in the middle of Vestal Center Park, located at 2240 Coleman Street.

Jablon specializes in glass mosaic art, including public murals and smaller pieces like ornaments.

She hosts open studio hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 8 and on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m.

Jablon says the space is perfect for parties and hosting events.

She says if you have a membership, you can use the space however you want, and pop in and out when you please.

“We are a fully functioning glass studio. We can do mosaics, we have glass fusing where the glass goes in the kiln. We take old windows and we decorate them with glass work and epoxy. We have lightweight cement classes. We make ornaments, we do all sorts of kinds of things and we will gladly teach you how to do all of them at any of our open studio workshops or classes,” says Jablon.

She says being in the park will bring in families and their kids.
