TWIN FALLS, Hawaii (KHON2) — Maui Fire Department rescued a California hiker after he fell approximately 10 feet while hiking at Twin Falls.

Fire officials received the call on Wednesday around 12:41 p.m. when it was reported that the 30-year-old visitor fell onto rocks and sustained trauma injuries to his upper and lower body.

Engine 2 and Rescue 10 aboard Air 1 responded to the scene, where firefighters hiked to the victim’s location where they prepared him to be airlifted.
He was then airlifted to a landing zone adjacent to Hana Highway.
