Kinley Purdy and Kathryn Morgan scored 14 points each as Lake-Lehman seized sole possession of first place in Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 girls basketball with a 51-41 win over Nanticoke Area on Thursday night.
Olivia Oliver added nine points for the Black Knights, who improved to 5-0 in the division.
Nanticoke Area was led by Caitlyn Majiros with nine points, while Navaeh Baran added eight points.
Crestwood 54, Wyoming Valley West 42
Three Comets reached double figures as Crestwood beat Wyoming Valley West.
Charlie Hiller led the way with 17 points. Jackie Gallagher added 14 and Cameron Vieney chipped in 10 points.
Thalia Irizarry had 18 points to lead Wyoming Valley West.
Tunkhannock 58, MMI Prep 6
The Tigers held MMI Prep to just three made baskets, picking up a win in Division 2.
Laurianna Alston led Tunkhannock with 14 points, while Aliyah Faux added 11.
BOYS SWIMMING
Hazleton Area 121, Dallas 40
Chase Kaschak and Jay Rosenstock won two individual events each in Hazleton Area’s victory.
Kaschak won the 200 free and 100 fly, while Rosenstock took first place in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.
Chase Kresge led Dallas with two wins in the 50 free and 500 free.
Tunkhannock 111, Wilkes-Barre Area 39
The Tigers won all but one event in a commanding win over Wilkes-Barre Area to stay undefeated.
Braydon Christopher won the 200 and 500 free events to lead Tunkhnnock.
Sulaiman Derac took first place in the 100 back for the Wolfpack.
GIRLS SWIMMING
Dallas 103, Hazleton Area 79
The Mountaineers swept all 12 events to remain unbeaten and strengthen their hold at the top of the Wyoming Valley Conference.
Peyton Stauffer (200 and 500 free), Erika Doran (200 IM and 100 breaststroke), Audrey Haydu (50 free and 100 fly) and Lydia Gonzales (100 free and 100 back) each captured two individual events for Dallas.
Tunkhannock 102, Wilkes-Barre Area 64
Annie Bonnice and Miranda Anderson won two individual events each to lead Tunkhannock to a win.
Bonnice won the 200 and 500 free, while Anderson won the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke.
Nicole Castillo had Wilkes-Barre Area’s lone victory, in the 100 fly.
