CHAMPION, Ohio (WKBN) — Some pet owners received free dog and cat food thanks to one local organization.
TNR of Warren hosted a low-income pet food giveaway on Sunday.
There were 100 pounds of cat food and 240 pounds of dog food handed out, but only those with valid TNR ID cards were able to pick up food for their fur friends.
The ID cards are good for 90 days to use at TNR’s pet food giveaways.
To register for one, 25 percent of your cats must be spayed or neutered at a TNR clinic. Every 90 days you are required to get another 25% of them fixed to renew your card.
“If they get them spayed or neutered and we can do it at a low cost, it would cut down on the amount of cats out there,” Gloria Thomas with TNR of Warren said.
TNR of Warren hosts about two pet food giveaways every month.
