The marketing of Islanders No. 1 overall pick John Tavares begins with the season opener against defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Oct. 3 at Nassau Coliseum. It will mark the first time Tavares faces Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, and it will mark the return of former captain Bill Guerin for the first time since his trade to the Penguins on March 4.
