International Court rejected two preliminary objections raised by  Azerbaijan in the case brought by Armenia

ArmInfo. The International Court has rejected two preliminary objections raised by Azerbaijan in
the case brought by Armenia against Azerbaijan. The decision was announced on November 12 during an open session.  Note that we are talking about Azerbaijan's objections to Armenia's claim in the
International Court against Azerbaijan regarding the latter's violations of the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).

The ratio of votes against rejecting the first objection in the Court
was 16/1, while for the second objection it was 15/2. The objections
raised by the Azerbaijani side were related to the argument that
certain demands made by Armenia were beyond the jurisdiction of the
International Court. Additionally, the Azerbaijani side expressed
confidence that negotiations between the parties outside the court
could yield positive results. However, the International Court didn't
find this belief convincing.

The President of the International Court, announced the decision and
also read the text of Armenia's statement. It claims that due to
Azerbaijan's policy of Armenophobia, Armenians have faced systematic
discrimination, mass murder, torture, violence and inhuman treatment.
According to Armenia, Azerbaijan has been pursuing a policy of racial
discrimination for decades, thus violating several provisions of
ICERD.
