The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Oct. 13, reported receipts of 76,867 head compared to 46,968 head a week ago and 80,333 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 26,263 head, 1,290 to 1,650 lbs., 186.00 to 188.00 (187.29); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,852 head, 1,300 to 1,575 lbs., 186.00 to 187.00 (186.96); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,582 head, 1,310 to 1,500 lbs., 186.00 to 187.00 (186.44). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 1,421 head, 1,300 to 1,600 lbs., 188.00 to 192.00 (190.45).
