The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Sept. 29, reported receipts of 63,238 head of cattle selling compared to 68,892 head a week ago and 62,096 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Steers: Live FOB basis, 20,186 head, 1,275 to 1,650 lbs., 184.00 to 188.00 (186.45); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,442 head, 1,225 to 1,570 lbs., 182.00 to 187.00 (185.11); 35 to 65% Choice, 1,851 head, 1,300 to 1,500 lbs., 184.00 to 185.00 (184.79). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 934 head, 1,400 to 1,550 lbs., 185.00 to 189.50 (188.79).
