The High Plains area weekly weighted average direct cattle sales results for the week ending Jan. 19, reported receipts of 65,269 head compared to 60,902 head a week ago and 29,478 head a year ago, according to the USDA Livestock Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
The report is based on sales from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa, and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 24,981 head, 1,325 to 1,700 lbs., 200.00 to 206.00 (204.12); 65 to 80% Choice, 3,473 head, 1,200 to 1,689 lbs., 200.00 to 203.50 (201.10); 35 to 65% Choice, 830 head, 1,300 to 1,580 lbs., 201.00 to 201.00 (201.00). Live delivered, over 80% Choice, 843 head, 1,500 to 1,600 lbs., 203.00 to 208.00 (206.63). Dress delivered, over 80% Choice, 9,360 head, 837 to 1,127 lbs., 318.00 to 331.00 (322.02); 65 to 80% Choice, 612 head, 895 to 1,008 lbs., 318.00 to 322.00 (321.41).
