SUGARLOAF TWP. — A shooting that injured a man at a residence on Merry L Lane appears to be an isolated incident, Pennsylvania State Police at Hazleton reported.
Troopers along with police in Sugarloaf and Butler townships responded to the residence just after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The victim was transported to an area hospital.
The gunman is not in custody.
Investigators with the Troop N Criminal Investigation Unit assumed the investigation along with the Luzerne County district attorney’s office.
“This appears to be an isolated incident but we remind the community that if you see anything suspicious, contact 911 immediately,” the state police news release says.
No other details or the name of the victim were released as state police stated updates will be made available as not to jeopardize the investigation.
