The Pike Chamber of Commerce honored local leaders during their 2024 dinner and auction fundraiser. Around 150 were in attendance for the Farm to Table celebration that showcased the county’s agricultural heritage. Three awards were presented, including the Small Business of the Year award, the Organization of the Year award and the Volunteer of the Year award.
“It was an incredible evening, made even more meaningful as we raised funds to further support the Chamber’s ongoing efforts to champion local businesses,” said Kacie Edwards. “We owe a huge thank you to every donor and attendee who contributed to the success of the event. We deeply appreciate our members for allowing us the privilege of supporting their climb to success. This year has been extraordinary for the Chamber, and I have cherished every moment of serving as President over the past 11 months. Our dedicated staff, board of directors, and ambassadors have shown steadfast commitment to our mission, ensuring our success so that you can succeed. I couldn’t be prouder of Pike County and the strength of its entrepreneurs.”
The Small Business of the Year honor was awarded to Palmetto Family Dental which has an office on the Zebulon courthouse square. The award was presented to a small business that exemplifies excellence in business performance, a commitment and involvement in community-oriented projects, excellence in customer service, success through innovation in products and services, outstanding leadership and management and high levels of employee engagement.
The Organization of the Year honor was awarded to Pike Family Connection. The award was presented to an organization that exemplifies demonstrated core values, a positive impact on the community, has led to improvements in the quality of life in the community and strong leadership. Mike Powell has served as coordinator of the organization for more than 10 years.
The Volunteer of the Year honor was awarded to Kacie Edwards of Prosperity Realty on the courthouse square. The award was presented to a person who exemplifies a positive impact on the community, unpaid service to the Chamber and the community, someone who demonstrates initiative, leadership and dependability and a person who identifies community needs or concerns and takes action to address them.
