The Bears will play quarterback Caleb Williams and their healthy veterans on Sunday against the rival Packers, coach Thomas Brown said Monday.
The Bears have nothing to play for — except for draft position, in which losing to their rivals would actually benefit them. Brown, though, said there had not been a conversation between him, general manager Ryan Poles or president/CEO Kevin Warren about sitting out the No. 1 overall pick.
The Bears have lost 10 in a row. Williams spoke after Thursday’s game as if he planned to play against the Packers. He’ll become the first Bears quarterback ever to start 17 regular-season games in a season and the first since 2009 to start every game in a season. Jay Cutler started 16.
The Packers have already qualified for the playoffs but their seeding is not yet set. The Bears will play Sunday at noon at Lambeau Field.
