Bears add another candidate in Packers offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich: source

The Bears are mining the NFC North as part of their coaching search and requested permission from the Packers to interview offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich, a source said.

Stenavich pushes the list of known candidates to 20, and the Bears already have interviewed Lions coordinators Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn and are expected to interview Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores.

Stenavich, 41, has been the Packers’ offensive coordinator under Matt LaFleur since 2022. The team was fifth in points scored this season after finishing 10th last season and 13th in 2022. LaFleur calls plays for the Packers.

Stenavich grew up in northern Wisconsin and played left tackle at Michigan. He worked his way up as a strength and conditioning coach and offensive line coach, and LaFleur hired him to coach the offensive line in 2019.

The Packers were eliminated from the playoffs Sunday when they lost 22-10 to the Eagles.

The Bears have interviewed nine candidates for their head-coaching vacancy, including interim coach Thomas Brown on Monday.
