‘AZ’s No. 1 source for memes’ blasts InMaricopa vid to 120K followers

People all over Arizona have their eyes on Maricopa, and it never seems to be for the right reasons.

Earlier this week, Explore With Us released a documentary about Maricopa Police Department’s most famous criminal case to its 8.3 million YouTube subscribers.

Recently, large Instagram accounts have shared several videos teasing Maricopans’ apparent inability to drive a car, like two braindead motorists colliding and a sedan side-swiping a dump truck, and subjecting them to the ridicule that is an Instagram comment section.

If you know Instagram, you know comments tend to be uniquely unhinged compared to any other mainstream social media site. That was the case for another post that popped up just yesterday, and this time it’s a video that InMaricopa was first to release Nov. 2.

Instagram user @DownInnaDesert, an account with 120,000 followers that bills itself as the “#1 Source for News & Memes in Arizona,” shared our video of a heated exchange between two men in Glennwilde in September.

It’s the exchange that led Capistrano Drive resident Michael Soto to accuse his neighbor of being a “racist” after the neighbor is heard in the home security footage calling Soto a “w*tback.”

Instagram commenters, like user @jerm0234, questioned the legitimacy of the video and accused the account of posting it to rile people up after the recent election results. The user replied to all the post’s 600-plus comments: “it’s fake.”

No, @jerm0234, it’s not.
