ArmInfo. Armenia has once again joined the events within the framework of the European Heritage
Days initiative, which will be held this year on September 14-15 under the motto of Roads, Networks, Connections.
The official opening of the event will take place at the Areni Wine
Winery in Vayots Dzor province. Over the course of two days, more
than 100 cultural organizations will host guests under their roof, a
variety of cultural events, classical and Armenian folk music
concerts, film screenings, walking tours, literary and musical
evenings, educational, interactive programs, discussion meetings,
lectures, competitions, master classes, etc. will be organized.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science,
Culture and Sports, <European Heritage Days> are held annually in 50
European countries that have joined the European Cultural Convention
(1954). The idea for the initiative arose in France in 1984.
The <European Heritage Days> program was officially approved in 1991.
In 1999, the European Union joined the program. More than 70,000
cultural events are held throughout Europe every year to raise public
awareness of European heritage, emphasize its uniqueness and
diversity, and the importance of its continued preservation.
