ArmInfo. Armenia is proposing to introduce a new holiday – Father's Day.The draft, which includes
amendments to the law "On holidays and memorial dates of the Republic of Armenia" was discussed during the first reading on September 3 at a meeting of the NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs.
The author of the draft law, Zaruhi Batoyan, a member of the ruling
faction "Civil Contract" proposes to mark June 17 as Father's Day.

will help to strengthen the importance of family in the minds of
children. It will also help fathers better understand their role in
supporting the family and raising children. In many foreign countries
this day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June, while in others
it is celebrated on the first Sunday of September or on other dates.
At the same time, the deputy expressed her readiness to discuss the
issue of selecting a day. The initiative received a positive
response from the commission.
