Arkansas lawmakers react to Donald Trump's second inauguration

WASHINGTON D.C. (KNWA/KFTA) — Multiple Arkansas lawmakers were at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. on Monday for Donald Trump’s second inauguration.

Some have taken to social media for reactions during and after the ceremony.

Rep. Steve Womack

“Today, we ushered in a new era for America. President Trump plans to tackle the issues that have plagued our country for the last four years— sky-high prices, a dangerous open border, a struggling economy, and weak leadership on the world stage. After celebrating the peaceful transfer of power and welcoming change, it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work. I’m ready to reignite the conservative values that define our nation and rebuild a strong, prosperous America.”

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders

“It’s a new day in America – and the country is ready!!!”

Sen. John Boozman

“On Day 1 of the second Trump administration, Senate Republicans are ready to get to work delivering for the American people. I look forward to pursuing solutions that strengthen our border, restore American energy independence, support our farmers with a new #farmbill, provide tax relief and more.”

This story will be updated as more reactions come in from lawmakers.
