Ace proves it’s the place for topnotch customer service

Maricopa’s “red-vested heroes” have earned some national recognition.  

Ace Hardware nabbed a top spot yesterday in the home improvement section of the Forbes’ 2025 list for Best Customer Service.  

It’s a designation that local owner Dave Karsten says is a core part of their mission. 

“We certainly strive to be the best at customer service and, historically, we have,” the Karsten’s Ace Hardware owner told InMaricopa. “It’s great to see our customers recognize the fact that our red-vested heroes are working that hard to serve them.” 

The coveted title was earned in a national survey performed by Forbes’, which ranked Ace in the “top 1% of outstanding brands” for staff helpfulness, speed, services and problem resolution. Out of 3,500 companies, the home improvement store ranked 34th on the list.  

Aside from their resident shop cat, Smokey, this commitment to a “service so good, it’s guaranteed” is something Karsten thinks separates his business from the big box stores now entering Maricopa.  

“I think our neighbors in Maricopa know when it comes to where they know they can get quality service and where they know they can interact with a human at the checkout counter, it’s with their local Ace Hardware store,” he said.
