In her application, she shared that she moved her family to Oahu so her teenage daughter could receive cancer treatment. Since her daughter is in remission, Tamara and her family rely heavily on public transportation and ride sharing to meet their daily needs.
“What we really need is a car because I was catching the bus, catching Ubers to get to the plane every week. Whatever I needed to do to take care of family, even having to rent cars at times,” she shared.
On Wednesday, Jan. 15, Tamara received her “miracle” with the help of First Insurance Company of Hawaii, UNIBODY Autotech and other other supporters to donate a refurbished 2018 Honda Civic.
Tamara expressed her gratitude for the donation, revealing it would help with simple things such as going to the grocery store, attending church and connecting with people.
