"Mother Armenia" bloc condemns Yerevan`s "Ukrainization" of the  country`s foreign policy

ArmInfo. The "Mother Armenia" bloc condemns Yerevan's "Ukrainization" of the country's foreign policy.  The bloc's statement, received by ArmInfo, notes that the abrupt change in Armenia's foreign policy by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan poses a threat to the country's existence.

"The Armenian people are facing an existential problem. Making fateful decisions without public and parliamentary discussions is condemnable. The decision of the RA government to begin the process of joining the EU, as well as the signing of the Charter on Strategic Partnership with the United States, is turning our country into an arena of confrontation between the West and Russia, the West and
Iran. This is drawing us into a geopolitical conflict and
jeopardizing relations with our natural allies, potentially leading
to the final severance of ties with them and all the consequences that follow from this step," the statement says.  It notes that the  false agenda of integration into the EU is a direct path to the "Ukrainization" of Armenia.  "The beginning of the EU accession process calls into question Armenia's membership in the EAEU, which threatens our country with a deep economic, social, energy and humanitarian crisis. Without a nuclear power plant, Armenia may return to the 1990s. The price of gas may increase by approximately three times the current price. The economic downturn can reach extremely high double-digit percentages, especially considering the current trade turnover between Armenia and Russia, which exceeds $ 10 billion, is predicted to decline sharply. The EU and the EAEU are incompatible, mutually exclusive structures, and it is impossible to sit on two chairs at the same time.

The so-called pro-Western foreign policy of the Armenian authorities may actually make our country a pawn in the relations between the West and Russia, rather than contribute to the formation of a "crossroads of the peace", as Pashinyan and his team are attempting to portray to mislead the citizens of Armenia. We support the development of partnership relations with the West, but not at the expense of, and certainly not in opposition to Armenian-Russian relations. We urge all public and political forces concerned about the future of the Republic of Armenia to give a clear assessment of Nikol Pashinyan's destructive foreign policy and put an end to it. Today, the issue is whether Armenia will continue to exist or not," the bloc's statement reads.
