ArmInfo. The Republic of Armenia is considering the possibility of appealing to the OSCE regarding the dissolution of the Minsk Group (MG) (the only international structure with a mandate to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict – ed.). This statement was shared on Facebook by Nazeli Baghdasaryan, the press secretary of the Prime Minister of Armenia, in response to inquiries from various media outlets.
According to her, in an interview with the state agency "Armenpress" on December 19, 2024, Prime Minister Pashinyan, answering the question regarding Armenia's stance on the idea of dissolving the OSCE Minsk Group, noted: "It is constructive. We understand the perspective that questions the necessity of having a conflict resolution format in the absence of conflict. However, we also want to ensure that Azerbaijan's actions, such as proposing the development of the term of the so-called "Western Azerbaijan", are not driven by an aggressive policy towards the territory of the Republic of Armenia."
According to her, in a Facebook post on January 8, 2025, Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized that there is no and cannot be Western Azerbaijan on the territory of the Republic of Armenia and stressed the necessity for Azerbaijan to abandon this discourse which questions the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia and hinders the establishment of peace. "The Republic of Armenia unequivocally and unambiguously recognizes the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and is ready to reaffirm this by signing the peace treaty, as well as by implementing all other initiatives and steps mentioned above. It is important that Azerbaijan also unequivocally and indisputably recognizes the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia," Baghdasaryan wrote.
