ArmInfo. The Armenian authorities intention to dissolve the OSCE Minsk Group in response to Azerbaijan's demand will be the next most serious anti-state step taken by the current authorities of the Republic of Armenia, following the recognition of Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan. David Manukyan, a member of the political council of the "Country for Life" party shated this on his Facebook page. He believes that if the Republic of Armenia decides to dissolve the Minsk Group, it will thereby legitimize the crimes committed by Azerbaijan against Armenia
and Artsakh.
"It turns out that solving issues by force of arms is considered
acceptable and legal. By acknowledging ourselves as an aggressor and occupier, we essentially legitimize all of Azerbaijan's steps. This is also a direct serious blow to our compatriots currently being held captive in Baku, as Azerbaijan will have strong grounds to claim that these people are criminals. This, in turn, will further justify Azerbaijan's actions in Artsakh," the politician noted. At the same time, he pointed out that the current authorities in Armenia have destroyed the country's entire security system. They are now trying
to completely deprive the Republic of even those small safety
cushions that may not be large, but play a certain role in ensuring security. "Even factors with a one percent influence should be taken into account if they concern our security. Well, how short-sighted does one have to be to not understand why Aliyev demands the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group? After all, for the side that wants peace, this is not an obstacle, but for the side that wants war, this is a significant obstacle," Manukyan concluded.
Earlier, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, the press secretary of the Prime
Minister of Armenia, in response to questions from various media outlets, said that the Republic of Armenia is considering the possibility of appealing to the OSCE regarding the dissolution of the Minsk Group (MG) (the only international structure mandated to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict – ed.).
