Foreign Minister: Armenian government makes efforts to ensure long-term stability

ArmInfo. On January 10, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, Magdalena Grono.

As reported by the press service of the MFA, the interlocutors 
discussed a wide range of issues on the Armenia-EU partnership agenda. They addressed the achievements recorded during the previous year, the progress of discussions on developing a new partnership agenda, and upcoming activities. Touching upon the draft bill "On the Launch of the Process of Armenia's Accession to the EU", the Minister 
noted that the positive conclusion given by the Armenian government yesterday is in line with the dynamics of deepening Armenia's cooperation with the EU and member states, as well as with the European aspirations of Armenian citizens.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Magdalena Grono exchanged views on enhancing the partnership, taking into account the opportunities provided by the existing tools. Among other mechanisms, the importance of the EU civilian mission in Armenia was emphasized. The meeting also touched upon the security situation in the South Caucasus, current challenges 
and  necessary steps to effectively overcome them. The Minister highlighted the Armenian government's efforts to normalize relations with neighbors and establish peace in the region, seeking  mutually acceptable solutions for long-term stability. In this context, the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry presented proposals for finalizing the agreement on normalizing relations with Azerbaijan and unblocking regional communications.
