Someburros looking to spice up Maricopa restaurant scene

You asked for more sit-down restaurants and another is looking to call Maricopa home.

Chandler-based Someburros Mexican Food wants to set up shop to sell its Sonoran-style dishes near Stonegate Road and Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, according to a public document released to InMaricopa today.

Developers submitted pre-application paperwork to Maricopa’s planning department on Dec. 24, detailing plans to build a 3,519 square foot restaurant with restaurant and patio dining. It will also have a drive-thru window for pick up orders.

InMaricopa has reached out to Someburros for comment.

If the project moves forward, it may join Buffalo Wild Wings, a standalone Starbucks and a second Panda Express just west of Home Depot.

So far, only B-Dubs has progressed by submitting paperwork to city planners in September. However, it has yet to be reviewed by the Maricopa Planning and Zoning Commission.

Someburros currently operates 18 stores across the state, although this would be the first located south of the greater Phoenix area. The next closest location is approximately 22 miles away near Chandler Fashion Center mall.
