After a search lasting more than three months, a missing Maricopa teen was found safe.
Maricopa Police Department confirmed authorities found Adriana Del Angel-Rivera, 14, in Phoenix Aug. 24.
Adriana went missing May 16 after failing to return to her group home after school that day. It marked the second time she went missing since 2021.
That year, Adriana was found after she went missing for four days in Mesa.
Chris Castorena of Arizona Private Investigation Services, who assisted in the search efforts, said in an Aug. 25 statement Adriana is “getting the help she needs.” APIS is also working to determine who was hiding her with hopes of bringing “child endangerment and other charges” against that person, he said.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children currently lists four other Maricopa children as missing:
Javier Alzuhair-Sainz, 16, was last seen entering an unidentified car from his Tortosa home on Aug. 3. He was sighted in Coolidge Aug. 13.
William Wells, 17, was last seen Oct. 14, 2023.
Jordan Martinez-Madrid, 16, went missing Sep. 28, 2022.
A John Doe estimated to be aged 15 to 21 at the time of his death. His body was found by a dirt road near Pampas Grass and Hidden Valley Roads on March 29, 2009.
