BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Firefighters safely rescued two people involved in a car wreck that ended up at the bottom of a steep hill Tuesday evening.
A car lost control and tumbled down the bottom of an embankment Aug. 27, resulting in two people being hospitalized, according to the Kern County Fire Department. Kern County firefighters responded to the incident, on Highway 58 one mile east of General Beale Road at about 4:47 p.m.
Shortly after arriving on scene, firefighters determined a rescue rope system would be needed for the 2 victims. The system utilized ropes, pulleys and other hardware anchored to fire engines on the road.
