HARRISON, Ark. – Crews are working to repair damage to park facilities at the Buffalo National River after severe flooding.

National Park Service officials said flooding caused by heavy rain earlier in the week has damaged roads and facilities within the park.

Officials said several campsites at Kyles Landing, Erbie and Ozark campgrounds were damaged by flooding and left covered in silt.

Due to the conditions of the campsites, officials said fees are suspended in those campgrounds until March 14, 2025.

NPS officials said roads in the Erbie Historic District and surrounding area were significantly damaged and the Erbie-Compton Road, low water crossing at Erbie and Cecil Creek crossing are covered in silt and deeply rutted in places. Officials noted those roads are still open but only passable by high clearance cars with four-wheel drive.

The National Park Service said some areas of the park will have limited facilities during the ongoing repairs.
