The Winchester Civic Group hosted its Harvest Fest celebration to welcome the fall season for residents on Sunday, October 20.
Harvest Fest featured food, games, crafts, shopping and live music during the celebration, which took place on the town square from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees enjoyed a peaceful day of watching children create crafts and play while mingling in the bright sun and cool breeze under trees whose colorful leaves fell around them.

Businesses like Tacos Tequila, Alice’s Attic and Hidden Honey Market around the square were open for business as well as bakery vendor Graciously Sweet. Leo’s Pizza’s food truck was available and live music took place from 2-4 p.m. Lori Herring sold out of her popular chicken and noodles shortly after the event began. Further north on the square, Sweet ‘N’ Swirl Ice Cream Shop and Rural Cyclery were open for business as well.
Jacksonville musician Levi Tucker performed a variety of bluegrass and folk music cover songs as well as original songs like “Holy Ghost”, which he wrote for his daughters Norah, 9 and Marley,11, who were in the audience to support him.
Tucker, who said he has pursued music professionally for over 10 years, describes his music as acoustic, mellow Americana. Sunday was not the first time he has performed in Winchester. He’s also entertained Winchester music lovers during the Music in the Park series in years past.
