Winchester Hometown Christmas Memory Trees available for purchase

By DAVID CAMPHOUSE

The Winchester Hometown Christmas committee has announced on social media that the group’s annual sale of Memory Trees has commenced.

A limited quantity of Memory Trees are available for purchase until Saturday, October 26.

This year’s Memory Trees are potted, living, three foot Red Cedars. Each tree is lightly adorned with Christmas lights and a decorative bow.

In addition, the trees will include a tag with the name of the loved one in whose memory the tree was purchased.

The trees will be displayed around the square in Winchester during the holiday season.

After the holidays, trees can be picked up by the family member or friend who purchased the tree. Alternatively, the tree may be donated to the City of Winchester to be planted as part of other town beautification efforts.

Trees may be picked up from the square after noon on Wednesday, January 1.

Each tree is $70. Payment may be made by cash or check only, and payment is payable to the Winchester Civic Group % Stevie VanDeVElde, 437 West Cherry Street, Winchester, IL 62694.

Payment is due within one week of the time of order.
