YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The newly appointed music director and conductor of the Youngstown Symphony will miss what was to be his first concert on Saturday.
Symphony officials announced that new music director Sergey Bogza will be unable to be with the orchestra Saturday night because of what they called “unforeseen circumstances.”
Instead, Pittsburgh-based conductor Edward Leonard will take his place. Leonard has conducted various ensembles, including the Pittsburgh Philharmonic and the Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, as well as founded The Chamber Orchestra of Pittsburgh.
