Local politicians to debate at Meet the Candidates Night

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) – With the November election fast approaching, the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce is giving voters the chance to meet some of the candidates they will soon see on the ballot.

The chamber is hosting the 2024 Meet the Candidates Night on October 3 at the Holiday Inn in Binghamton.

In a discussion forum hosted by News 34’s Jim Ehmke, US Congressional and State Senate candidates will share where they stand on issues impacting local business as well as the community.

Featured forum candidates include Lea Webb and Mike Sigler who are each running for New York State Senate District 52 as well as New York Congressional District 19 candidates Marc Molinaro and Josh Riley.

Other elected officials and candidates in attendance include Assemblywoman and Candidate for District 123 Donna Lupardo, Assemblyman and Candidate for District 121 Joe Angelino, Broome County District Attorney Paul Battisti, Town of Chenango Highway Superintendent Derin Kraack, and Candidate for Senate District 51 Michele Frazier.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7:30. Networking with candidates will be held from 5:30 to 6 and the candidate discussion will begin at 6.

Tickets are $15 for elected officials, $30 for chamber members, and $40 for non-members. RSVP is required. Registration must be submitted by September 30. To register, click here.
