A 20-3 edge in the second quarter helped the Crestwood girls basketball team take control en route to a 47-39 win over Dallas on Thursday night, strengthening the Comets’ grip on second place in Division 1 in the process.
Charlie Hiller led Crestwood with 15 points. Kendall Petrosky added 13 points and Jackie Gallagher finished with 10 for the Comets.
Caitlyn Mizzer was the leading scorer for Dallas with 11 points. Mia DelGaudio chipped in 10 points.
Hazleton Area 57, Wilkes-Barre Area 21
The Division 1 leading Cougars continued to run through the competition with a commanding win over Wilkes-Barre Area.
Sophia Benyo and Kaitlyn Bindas each had 12 points to lead Hazleton Area. Alexis Reimold added 10 points.
Jaida Underwood had nine points to lead Wilkes-Barre Area.

Ella Stambaugh had 28 points in a Wyoming Seminary rout of Hanover Area.
Avery Luksic added 12 and Ellie Kersey chipped in 11 points for the Blue Knights.

Three Patriots scored in double figures in Pittston Area’s win over Berwick.
Daniella Ranieli led the group with 17 points, while Maddie Karp and Lili Hintze added 14 points apiece.

Krea Bonita and Shannon Kearns had nine points each, leading a balanced offensive effort in a win over MMI Prep.

The Wolfpack trailed by three heading into the final quarter but rallied to topple Hazleton Area at home.
David Jannuzzi had 20 points to lead Wilkes-Barre Area, while Mike Keating kicked in 15 points.
Dylan Stish scored 15 points to lead Hazleton Area. Yohansel Moran added 13 points.

Central Columbia benefited from six forfeits to take down Berwick.
Savannah Wisneski had a pinfall victory for Berwick. The Bulldogs also got forfeit victories from Aubrey Derr and Carmen Pineda.

Head coach Jon Laudenslager picked up his 300th career victory at Wilkes as the Colonels cruised past Scranton.
Wilkes began the match with five straight pinfalls, and won seven out of 10 total matches to earn the win.
